New Old Games: August 4

by Adam Robinson on

Through leaks and other crafty sources, I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to mention what is coming out for the VC and Wii Ware tomorrow… today! We truly live in the future. But first, some news from the Capcom USA staff blog: The original (and second best classic Mega Man), er, Mega Man, is hitting the Virtual Console tomorrow, in preparation for the September release date of Mega Man 9. People who like good games, start stoking whatever it is people stoke in preparation of the release of new old games. Also, Mega Man 2 (the best classic Mega Man game) will also see release in early September. How cute, being released together. I hope Mega Man 9 is great, because if a game some nine million years its elder is better, Lucy, you got some ‘splaining to do! Also, Mega Man. Mega Man.

Interested in other good games? See what’s coming out tomorrow after the jump.

If the original Mega Man isn’t enough for your retro-hedonistic ways, you will very probably be able to purchase Ys Book I + II, a game with an infuriating title to write correctly. I’ve never played Ys, because the name is stupid, but in case you forgot, tomorrow is Mega Man day. Don’t be jerk, buy Mega Man.

For the Wii Ware aficionados, Wild West Guns is hitting the virtual shelves. It’s a game which supports the Wii Zapper (if you find yourself in the unenviable position of owning one); this leads me to assume it might be a shooter. Who knows! When I’m able to check the prices on everything, I’ll update this article tomorrow… in POST!

Also, I’d be remiss to not mention that Earthworm Jim 2, the best EWJ game ever made, has been rated by the ESRB for release on the VC console. This is good news! Maybe this means the original Earthworm Jim, which has been rated for VC release since the dawn of time, might see a release soon. One would hope.
