New Old Games: September 1st

by Adam Robinson on

Thores brings us good tidings on this, the laborest of days:

Today’s VC and WiiWare games: Super Mario RPG (SNES)

Clu Clu Land (NES)

My Aquarium (WiiWare)

Now, I’m not a doctor or whatever type of person prescribes games to people, but holy shit Super Mario RPG.

Now that one of the best Super Nintendo games has hit the Virtual Console, what other game am I going to complain about being absent? Methinks TMNT: Turtles in Time. But I’m not the only one excited about this. Encubed joyously exclaimed, “Finally, a reason to turn on my Wii!” ASPLM, ever the pyschomathematician (yep, made that shit up), came up with a nice little formula for those on the fence:

So if you like the first paper mario you’ll: a) also like this

b) fucking love this

c) like the first paper mario.

**Gator**, however, was less enthusiastic about Super Mario RPG, but bless his heart, actually tried the game before dismissing it! “I hunted down an old cart while in school, despite never enjoying a RPG, because of all the praise it gets. I played it for a bit and decided that I just don’t like RPGs even when it is obviously well done and features a cast of characters set in a universe I care about.” RPGs are notoriously insular in that they appeal to a very specific audience, but good on you for giving it a go in your (assumed) checkered past!
