Developers of Where’s Waldo (NES) to Release Wii Title

Those crazy cats at Gameindustry.biz recently had a little chat with Sean Brennan of Bethesda Softworks.

Surprisingly, a bit more than the Xbox 360 and Fallout 3 was discussed. Apparently the company wishes to release a Wii game.

We are going to make an announcement on a really big Wii game this year, we’ve got a couple of other things in the pipeline, and it’s a format we’re really looking at with the right approach. We’re not going to establish a new range and call if ‘My Girly Game Range’ or whatever these other companies are doing, it’s so me-too and boring.

When a developer talks about matter in which they can only disclose minor details it is always difficult to know exactly what the end product of such a statement can be. Bethesda Softworks is more than just a developer, they’re also a producer and publisher. Honestly, as producers of four Star Trek games, they could just mean another one of those is on the way only this time we’re supposed to think of it as a “big” game. Likewise, let us not forget that they did develop “Where’s Waldo?” for the NES.

Will there be an announcement at E3 regarding what “really big” Wii game they’re getting ready for the Nintendo fans? Whether that’s the case or not everyone’s going to be looking to the expo next month for answers.
