Urban Champion is back! In POG form!
Or at least in Wii U Virtual Console form. Also some other stuff.
Once upon a time, Nintendo made a fighting game of sorts for the NES. It was called Urban Champion, and it is not compelling. Naturally, as of today it is now available for $4.99 on the Wii U Virtual Console. If you like punching men in the manhole then get it, I guess. However, if you’re gonna blow your wad on fisting action, and own a 3DS, you might as well get the 3D Classics remake version, which does nothing for the gameplay but has fancy 3D effects, for the same price. Or just get Clu Clu Land, another NES game that also came out today and is actually fun.
Nintendo 3DS owners who are fans of streaming and/or balls might be pleased by a couple of today’s releases for that platform. Hulu Plus is free to download, but to get any use out of it you’ve got to subscribe for $7.99 a month, or wait for another free trial for which you can sign up. If you’ve ever wanted to watch Scenes from a Marriage on your Nintendo handheld system then your day has come, buddy. Also out on the 3DS Virtual Console is the HAL Laboratory Game Boy game Revenge of the Gator, whose pinball gameplay is basically topped by HAL’s own later Kirby’s Pinball Land, which is already on the 3DS VC. Still, for $2.99 it’s an amusing game with good music and fun animations, even without Burt Reynolds.
